What is Methotrexate?

This is another chemo drug I was on. This on turned the whites of my eyes blue along with my urine. I was a real smurf. I remember the day it happened. We were having a cookout with some relatives when while talking to my sister in law she started screaming, ” OH MY GOD YOUR EYES ARE BLUE!” I had no idea what or why this made her scream like she had but I calmly, said, ” no my eyes are green.” She was telling me NOT NO MORE. My husband confirmed that my entire eyes were blue. Strangely I couldn’t see it. But, to this day I have multi-colored eyes, green with a blue ring around the green. This I can see.

Unfortunately for all my troubles with this drug it didn’t work. I could had killed more cancer cells by drinking Drano.

A few facts about this drug.

Methotrexate interferes with the growth of certain cells of the body, especially cells that reproduce quickly, such as cancer cells, bone marrow cells, and skin cells.

Methotrexate is used to treat certain types of cancer of the breast, skin, head and neck, or lung. It is also used to treat severe psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Methotrexate is usually given after other medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms.
Methotrexate may also be used for other purposes not listed in the manufacturer guide.

I was the other purpose, it was not listed in the guide for Lymphoma. Before I started on this drug we had to have lithotripsy done on my kidney to remove a huge kidney stone which was blocking the urethra. We could not surgically remove it going through my back because my counts were too low and I would had developed an infection. So we used another method, Lithotripsy. It wasn’t too bad really. It did crush most of the stone but a small one is still left, but I am not in the same position I was which was kidney failure on the one kidney.
